🕊️ Hyderabad Muslims Wear Black Armbands to Protest Pahalgam Terror Attack
In a strong show of solidarity and national unity, Muslims in Hyderabad observed a silent protest during Friday prayers against the recent terror strike in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.

🕌 Silent Protest at Mecca Masjid

On Friday, April 25, hundreds of Muslims attending the Juma Namaz at Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad wore black armbands as a symbolic gesture against the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam. The peaceful protest was aimed at condemning the killings of innocent civilians and expressing solidarity with the victims.

    📢 Slogans Against Terror

After the Friday prayers, large groups of worshippers took to the streets around the mosque, raising slogans like “Pakistan Murdabad” and “Hindustan Zindabad”. The demonstration remained peaceful but passionate, reflecting anger and grief over the Lashkar-e-Taiba-sponsored attack.

    📣 Owaisi’s Call to Action

AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi had urged Muslims to wear black armbands on Friday as a form of non-violent protest. “Juma Namaz, please do wear black band around your arms to protest the terrorist act perpetrated by LeT in Pahalgam against innocent Indians,” Owaisi posted on X, formerly Twitter. Many responded to his call and joined the protest.

🕯️ Candlelight Vigil in the Evening

Later in the evening, a candlelight vigil is scheduled to be held from People’s Plaza to Indira Gandhi Statue, led by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The symbolic march is expected to draw citizens across communities, echoing Hyderabad’s united stand against terrorism.

    🤝 United Against Terror

On Thursday, an interfaith protest at Masab Tank Hockey Grounds brought together Hindus and Muslims, jointly condemning the attack and affirming a shared commitment to peace. The visuals of unity from Hyderabad have drawn praise across the country.
