Congress leader Rahul Gandhi initiated the ‘Shiksha Nyay Samvad’ campaign in Darbhanga on May 15, aiming to address educational disparities and engaging backward marginalized community students on issues of education, equality, and justice across the state.

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi arrived in Bihar’s Darbhanga on Wednesday to launch the ‘Shiksha Nyay Samvad’—an initiative aimed at amplifying the voices of students and marginalized communities. The campaign is expected to form the backbone of Congress’s youth outreach ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.

Speaking to a gathering of students and youth leaders, Gandhi said, “Education is not a privilege, it’s a fundamental right. We will ensure every child in Bihar gets access to equal quality educational opportunities, regardless of caste or economic status.” The campaign has been designed to collect inputs from students, Dalits, OBCs, EBCs, and minorities, which will be used to shape the party’s manifesto called ‘Nyay Patra’.

Tensions Erupt Over Entry Denial at Ambedkar Hostel

In a dramatic turn of events, Rahul Gandhi was stopped by local authorities from entering the Ambedkar hostel, where he was scheduled to interact with students. Police barricaded the premises, citing lack of official permission, leading to a standoff between the Congress delegation and the administration.

Reacting to the incident, Gandhi stated, “Stopping me from meeting students will not stop the truth. This government is scared of educated youth who ask tough questions.” Congress leaders condemned the move as an attempt by the ruling BJP-JD(U) coalition to suppress dissent and democratic dialogue.

Congress Eyes Grassroots Issues for Electoral Momentum

The ‘Shiksha Nyay Samvad’ is a part of Congress’s strategy to reconnect with Bihar’s rural and backward constituencies. Party sources confirmed that similar interactions will be held across multiple districts in coming weeks. The campaign focuses on educational infrastructure, digital access, skill development, and fair representation in academic institutions.

“Our fight is not just for power but for the soul of India,” Rahul Gandhi said during his address. “In the new India we envision, every student will have the tools to succeed and the voice to be heard.”

As Rahul Gandhi’s campaign in Bihar gains momentum, the Congress party is banking on grassroots mobilization, education equity, and youth empowerment to challenge the established political order.
