    Activating Emergency Alerts on Android
New Delhi: To enable emergency alerts on your Android smartphone, go to Settings, scroll to Safety & Emergency, and select Wireless Emergency Alerts. Turn on the Allow Alerts option and enable all related settings. This ensures you receive critical notifications during emergencies.

    Enabling Emergency Alerts on iPhone
On your iPhone, navigate to Settings, tap Notifications, and scroll to Government Alerts. Enable the Test Alerts option. Once activated, your iPhone will receive emergency notifications, keeping you prepared for unforeseen situations like natural disasters or security threats.

    Why Emergency Alerts Matter
Emergency alerts notify you instantly when the government issues warnings during crises, such as natural disasters or security threats. These full-screen notifications, accompanied by a siren, work even in silent mode, allowing you to alert others and stay safe.

    India’s Emergency Alert Testing
In October 2023, India’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) tested its alert system, sending flash messages to Android and iOS users. This system aims to warn citizens during wars, floods, earthquakes, or tsunamis. Activate your phone’s settings to stay prepared.
