The Winter session of the Indian Parliament ended on a note which nobody expected. Ruckus and mayhem all around with a few Criss- cross FIRs marked the end of the winter session. The lawmakers protesting in the Parliament vicinity against a statement of the Home Minister Amit Shah made inside the Parliament. The standoff is likely to continue for another few days until the matter dies its own death. But not that soon. The matter escalated further after allegations of ‘push n fall’ against leaders of the opposition.
Dalit Historian, Author and journalist Dr Siddharth Ramu while elaborating the entire episode on Dr Ambedkar in and out of the parliament says: “Do not think that it is a slip of tongue, the real thing has come out on the tongue. If Gandhi is like a thorn in the heart of Hindu nationalists, then Nehru is a dagger, but Ambedkar is like a sword pierced from one end to the other for the Hindu nationalists.”
What Home Minister Amit Shah said in the parliament? He said: “Nowadays it has become a fashion, some people say Ambedkar Ambedkar Ambedkar Ambedkar Ambedkar Ambedkar… if they had taken the name of God so many times, they would have attained heaven for seven lives”.
“You should know that in the path of converting India into a Hindu nation, three personalities are the biggest obstacles in the path of Hindu nationalists, Gandhi, Nehru and Ambedkar. Therefore, their real three enemies are Gandhi-Nehru and Ambedkar. They supported Jinnah’s Muslim nation because they thought that when Pakistan becomes a Muslim state, India will automatically become a Hindu nation”, Dr Ramu says in a Hindi article.
“This was their thinking but Gandhi-Nehru-Ambedkar destroyed their dream by making a secular state. They can never forget this. Gandhi, Nehru, Ambedkar together destroyed their Hindu state. Since then, they are desperate to finish these three and will remain desperate in future too. They killed Gandhi and finished him off, but they never thought that Gandhi would be world famous. They weakened Nehru’s Congress and keep defaming Nehru’s character. They are doing it even today”, Dr Ramu adds.
“They attack Gandhi – Nehru openly but are afraid of attacking Ambedkar, despite hating Ambedkar, Modi had to say that if Baba Saheb was not there, he would not have become the Prime Minister. It is not that they love Ambedkar, but the truth is that they hate Ambedkar the most. They were waiting for the right time to attack Ambedkar and today Amit Shah’s statement is in the same context.”
The people of RSS who hate Dr. Ambedkar are compelled to praise Dr. Ambedkar superficially because opposing him is politically dangerous. But their opposition to Baba Saheb while he was alive is recorded in history. The question is why the Hindutvawadis have been avoiding attacking Ambedkar and his ideology, the biggest obstacle for a Hindu nation, and why are they attacking Gandhi and Nehru aggressively.
According to Siddharth Ramu, the first reason for this is that there are very few supporters (voters) of Gandhi-Nehru left in the country. The majority of the upper caste which was a strong supporter and advocate of Gandhi and Nehru has completely stood with the Hindutva mindset. This upper caste considered Gandhi during independence and Nehru after independence as their biggest leader, well-wisher and advocate. Both of them fulfilled their interests to the fullest. Gandhi and Nehru are no longer of any use to them. Today they are chanting “Har Har Modi” coining the term from “Har Har Mahadev”.
Now the upper caste considers Hindutvawad as their biggest well-wishers and they are standing with them with full readiness. Now Gandhi-Nehru’s are respected only among a handful of people of the upper caste, especially among conscious intellectuals, who are very few in numbers. Gandhi-Nehru have never been the natural heroes of the Bahujans’ (Dalits, backward and tribals), even though for various reasons the Bahujans’ have stood with them and have also been voting for the Congress Party led by Nehru.
“Even today, the natural heroes of the backward-Dalits and tribals are Jotirao Phule, Shahuji, Periyar, Jagdev Prasad, Ramswaroop Verma, Lalai Singh Yadav, Birsa Munda, Tilka Manjhi and Ambedkar.”
Ambedkar has never been a favorite of the Brahmins, neither is he today, nor can he be in the future. That is why after weakening the ideas of Gandhi-Nehru, they will launch the final attack on Ambedkar, after all Amit Shah attacked Ambedkar.
At present, the organizations, institutions and individuals engaged in realizing the project of Hindu Rashtra were avoiding direct attack on Ambedkar, but to fully realize their dream of Hindu Rashtra, they will have to remove Ambedkar from their path, who is standing in the way of Hindu Rashtra like the Great Wall of China by becoming the opposition of Hindutva and synonymous with the Constitution. Hindu nationalists are well aware of this truth. That’s what, Amit Shah has started it today by attacking Ambedkar.
“Gandhi-Nehru are challenges to the project of Hindu Rashtra in different forms, but the person who has made the most lethal attack on the foundation of Hindu Rashtra, on which the concept of Hindu Rashtra is based, that is Dr. Ambedkar. He considered Brahmin religion, Santana Dharma and Hindu religion as synonyms of each other.”
In this process, they will try to break the concept of Bahujan. After isolating Dalits from backward classes, they will try to get Dalits to stand with them. If they do not succeed, then by forming an alliance of upper caste and backward classes, they will launch an attack on Ambedkar i.e. Dalit ideology. The experiment of linking backward classes with upper castes started in Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of Kalyan Singh. Which has now been taken to a different level.
Finally, there are two strategies of Hindu nationalists to attack Ambedkar. The first is to get Dalits completely on their side for Hindutva politics by bringing Dalit leaders and keep taking Ambedkar’s name along with it. This will also be an attack on Ambedkar, but from behind the bushes. Some examples are visible in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and a few other states.
If the backwards get separated from the Dalits, then the Dalit voter will become a minority voter in the vote bank politics. Hindu nationalists have already found or are finding ways to exclude the Muslims, the natural political friends of Dalits, from the political process. In such a situation, they will launch a decisive attack on Ambedkar. But this will be their last option. Which they will use at the very end. Shah’s attack on Ambedkar is a part of a well-planned and well-thought strategy.
