India-Saudi Ties Have “Limitless Potential”: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed Saudi Arabia as a “trusted and strategic ally” ahead of his two-day visit to Jeddah, emphasizing that the bilateral partnership holds unprecedented opportunities for both nations.

Special Correspondent | New Delhi Post | New Delhi:

    Strengthening Strategic Ties

In an exclusive interview with Arab News, PM Modi underscored the robustness of India-Saudi relations, calling it “a pillar of stability in an uncertain world.” This marks his third visit to the Kingdom since 2016, reflecting the growing depth of engagement between the two countries.

    Vision 2030 & Bilateral Growth

The Prime Minister praised Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as a visionary leader, applauding his transformative Vision 2030 reforms. Modi highlighted expanding trade in energy, agriculture, and fertilizers, alongside collaborations in green hydrogen and technology, where Indian firms have a strong foothold.

    Game-Changing Economic Corridor

PM Modi described the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC) as a transformative project for regional commerce and connectivity. He also congratulated Saudi Arabia for securing World Expo 2030 and FIFA World Cup 2034, signaling deeper cultural and economic synergies.

    Defense & Security Collaboration

With joint military exercises and increasing defense cooperation, strategic trust between the two nations continues to grow. Modi’s visit aims to further solidify these ties, building on the Strategic Partnership Council established in 2019.

    A Historic Diplomatic Shift

Since 2014, PM Modi has made 15 visits to Gulf nations, including three to Saudi Arabia—surpassing the total visits by all previous Indian PMs combined. This reflects India’s proactive diplomacy in the region.

As PM Modi embarks on this crucial visit, the focus remains on unlocking new avenues of cooperation, from trade to technology, reinforcing a partnership that promises mutual prosperity.
