Georgetown: Sending a strong message against Pakistan’s support to cross-border terrorism, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said in Guyana on Sunday that India will not allow anyone to “get away” with killing its citizens. The Kerala politician, who is leading a multi-party delegation to apprise the world of New Delhi’s tough stand against Islamabad’s blatant support to cross-border terrorism, said India will not limit itself to “bringing the evil killers to justice” but will also challenge those who finance, train and arm terrorists.
India has reached a “point of firm resolve” against terrorism
Tharoor, who arrived in Georgetown after a visit to the United States, said on Sunday, “Our message is very clear. We have to stand up against terrorism, wherever it occurs. Not only do we have to bring the evil killers to justice, but we also have to seriously challenge those who are funding them, training them, equipping them, directing them to do their evil deeds.” Highlighting that India has suffered from terrorism for four decades, he said New Delhi has reached a point of “resolve” against terrorism. “We will never let anyone believe that they can cross the border and kill our citizens or anyone in our country and get away with impunity…
Appeal to join in expressing support, giving strength
We think we have to show them that there will be a price to pay. That is the message that the Indian government is sending and that we are all reiterating, which is that for us, the time has come for a new normal against terrorism,” he said. Shashi Tharoor also urged the Indian diaspora in Guyana to support India’s resolve against Pakistan-based terrorism. “We urge all of you to join us in expressing support, giving strength, determination and raising your voice against such acts in future. So that is the purpose of our visit,” he said.
Who are included in Shashi Tharoor’s delegation?
Shashi Tharoor’s delegation includes Shambhavi Chaudhary (Lok Janshakti Party), Sarfaraz Ahmed (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha), GM Harish Balayagi (Telugu Desam Party), Shashank Mani Tripathi, Tejasvi Surya, Bhubaneswar K Latha (all from BJP), Mallikarjun Deora (Shiv Sena) and India’s former Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
All about Operation Sindoor
The delegation is also updating the world on the facts of India’s recent Operation Sindoor. Under this operation, India destroyed nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The Indian armed forces subsequently thwarted Pakistan’s attacks on India’s civilian and military infrastructure. They also severely damaged Pakistan’s strategically indispensable air bases with precision strikes.
