Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s bold visit to Adampur Air Base, posing with the intact S-400 system, shatters Pakistan’s claims of its destruction, exposing their misinformation campaign post-Operation Sindoor.

    By Our Correspondent

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi decisively countered Pakistan’s narrative by visiting Adampur Air Base in Punjab on May 13, 2025, and posing in front of India’s S-400 air defense system. Pakistan’s air force had claimed its hypersonic missiles, launched from JF-17 jets, destroyed the S-400 during retaliatory strikes following India’s Operation Sindoor. Modi’s visit, coupled with his interaction with air warriors, reaffirmed the system’s operational status and exposed Pakistan’s disinformation, including fake videos circulated to exaggerate their military success.

    Exposing Pakistan’s Misinformation Campaign
Pakistan’s claims of damaging India’s S-400 and BrahMos missile base were debunked by the Ministry of External Affairs. Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, in a press briefing, dismissed assertions that Pakistan’s JF-17 jets inflicted damage on key Indian military assets, including airfields in Sirsa, Jammu, Pathankot, Bathinda, Naliya, and Bhuj. These claims, part of a broader misinformation campaign, were proven false, with India’s defense systems, including the S-400 “Sudarshan Chakra,” successfully intercepting Pakistan’s drone and missile attacks on May 7-8. The S-400’s advanced radar and missile capabilities remain a cornerstone of India’s aerial defense.

Modi’s Message of Strength and Gratitude
During his visit, PM Modi lauded the Indian Air Force’s role in thwarting Pakistan’s attacks, emphasizing the failure of their drones, UAVs, and missiles against India’s robust air defense. “Pakistan tried to attack the Adampur base, but failed,” Modi declared, highlighting the destruction of nine terror bases and over 100 terrorists in Operation Sindoor. He described the interaction with jawans as a “special experience,” posting on X, “India is eternally grateful to our armed forces for everything they do for our nation.” The visit underscored India’s military resilience and Modi’s commitment to national security.

    S-400: A Strategic Game-Changer
The S-400 “Sudarshan Chakra,” acquired from Russia in a $5.43 billion deal in 2018, is a long-range surface-to-air missile system capable of engaging targets up to 400 km away and tracking threats at 600 km. Deployed in Punjab since 2021, it bolsters India’s defenses against Pakistan and China. Supporting four missile types, it can neutralize aircraft, drones, and ballistic missiles, with phased-array radar tracking over 100 targets simultaneously. Its mobility and precision make it a pivotal asset, strengthening India’s multi-layered air defense and altering South Asia’s strategic landscape.

PM Modi’s symbolic gesture at Adampur not only refutes Pakistan’s false narrative but also reaffirms India’s military might, with the S-400 standing as a testament “‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.”
