Washington DC: US President Donald Trump sharply confronted South African President Cyril Ramaphosa during a meeting in the White House, reminiscent of a prior heated exchange with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on February 28 in the Oval Office. This time, Ramaphosa faced Trump’s scrutiny as the two leaders discussed contentious issues.

According to a Times of India report, Trump raised the issue of alleged “white genocide” in South Africa. He presented a video and documents, which he claimed provided evidence of this issue. Trump asserted that white people in South Africa were facing systematic persecution.

    What Was in the Video?

During the meeting, Trump instructed his team to dim the room’s lights and play a five-minute video. The footage featured images of white South Africans mourning at cemeteries, accompanied by provocative songs from South African opposition leader Julius Malema. The White House shared this video on its X account, captioned “Proof of Persecution in South Africa.”

This is undoubtedly one of the single greatest moments in presidential history.

Donald Trump asked what it will take for him to believe there is no white genocide going on in South Africa.

Ramaphosa appeared taken aback by the video. He glanced at a member of his delegation, chuckling, and asked, “Did they tell you where these pictures are from?” He informed Trump that he had never seen the footage before. Trump quickly responded, “This is in South Africa.”

    Ramaphosa Rejects Trump’s Claims

Ramaphosa firmly denied Trump’s allegations of “white genocide.” He clarified that crime in South Africa affects both white and black communities, stating, “Crime is an issue in our country, but it impacts everyone, not just white people.” Trump then presented articles and photographs, which he claimed documented murders of white South Africans. When Ramaphosa inquired about Trump’s intentions, the US President replied cryptically, “We’ll talk about it.”

The exchange left an air of tension, with Ramaphosa maintaining his stance while Trump pressed his claims, supported by the controversial video and documents.
