    Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a call with PM Narendra Modi, denounced the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. He pledged Russia’s full support for India’s anti-terrorism efforts, emphasizing justice for the perpetrators. The leaders also planned the 2025 India-Russia Summit.

    Strong Condemnation of Terror Attack
    New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin strongly condemned the “barbaric” April 22, 2025, terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 civilians. He expressed deepest condolences for the loss of innocent lives, reinforcing Russia’s solidarity with India in combating terrorism.

    Call for Justice
    Putin stressed that the perpetrators and their supporters must be brought to justice. Both leaders underscored the need for an uncompromising fight against terrorism in all its forms, as stated in a Russian embassy readout and India’s External Affairs Ministry.

    Strengthening Bilateral Ties
    The conversation highlighted the special and privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia, which remains resilient against external influences. Modi invited Putin for the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit in India later in 2025, an invitation Putin accepted.

    Victory Day Greetings
    Modi extended greetings to Putin for Russia’s 80th Victory Day anniversary. The leaders reiterated their commitment to deepening ties, with the summit expected to further bolster cooperation across various domains, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.
