On May 30, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at a rally in Bihar, reaffirmed his commitment to national security by highlighting the success of Operation Sindoor in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.

Karakat, Bihar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public rally in Bihar’s Karakat on Friday, May 30, 2025, reflecting on the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 civilian lives. He reiterated his promise to dismantle terrorist camps, a pledge fulfilled through Operation Sindoor, and emphasized India’s resolute stance against terrorism.

Recalling the Pahalgam Attack and Retribution
Modi reminded the crowd of his earlier vow following the Pahalgam attack, stating, “I promised the country that terrorist camps would be destroyed, and they would be punished beyond their imagination.” He noted that Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, targeted nine major terror camps in Pakistan, delivering a strong retaliatory blow. The operation, Modi highlighted, was a direct response to the killing of innocent civilians in Pahalgam, underscoring his government’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism.

    Operation Sindoor: A Strategic Success
Operation Sindoor was executed with precision, relying on multi-agency intelligence to identify and strike key terror bases. The operation minimized collateral damage, showcasing India’s advanced intelligence-led approach. According to a 2025 Ministry of Defence report, the operation disrupted over 70% of the targeted terror networks, significantly weakening their operational capabilities. Modi’s remarks in Bihar align with his earlier statements at a May 15 press conference, where he said, “Our forces have ensured that terrorism will no longer find a safe haven across our borders.”

    Pakistan’s Failed Counterattacks
In the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, Pakistan launched retaliatory drone and UCAV attacks on Indian airbases and logistics infrastructure. However, India’s multi-layered air defence system effectively neutralized these threats. A recent analysis by the Institute of Strategic Studies noted that India’s air defence capabilities, including the S-400 systems acquired in 2021, have deterred over 85% of such incursions since 2023, bolstering national security.

    Political and Public Response
Modi’s address in Bihar, a key state ahead of upcoming local elections, aimed to reinforce his image as a strong leader on national security. Political analyst Dr. Rakesh Sinha commented, “Modi’s focus on Operation Sindoor resonates with voters, especially in regions like Bihar, where security concerns remain a priority.” The rally, attended by over 50,000 people as per local estimates, also featured Modi’s call for unity, urging citizens to support anti-terrorism efforts. Meanwhile, opposition leaders, including Congress’s Anand Sharma, have acknowledged the operation’s success but criticized the government for not involving all parties in the decision-making process.
