Mallikarjun Kharge Slams RSS and BJP Over Funding and Political Tactics in Jaipur Rally
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, speaking at the “Save Constitution Rally” in Jaipur on April 28, 2025, launched a scathing attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He questioned the RSS’s sources of funding for their extensive property acquisitions and accused the BJP of using coercive tactics to suppress Congress whenever the party gains momentum.

Questioning RSS Funding Sources
Kharge directly challenged the RSS, asking how they fund their multi-crore property acquisitions across Indian cities. He highlighted their construction of large buildings and acquisition of vast lands, demanding transparency on the origins of their funds. He contrasted this with the Congress’s struggles, alleging that the BJP targets their events, such as raiding the Raipur session and filing charges against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case during the Ahmedabad session.
Accusations of Political Suppression
Kharge accused the BJP of systematically attempting to stifle Congress’s growth through intimidation. He cited the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for allegedly spreading false narratives and conducting prolonged interrogations to defame Congress leaders. He referenced the National Herald case, noting that a day after the Ahmedabad session concluded, the newspaper’s property was attached, and within two days, Sonia and Rahul Gandhi were named in a chargesheet. Kharge claimed that despite numerous raids over the past 11 years, nothing substantial has been found against Congress leaders, yet the BJP continues its efforts to tarnish their reputation.
Historical Contributions of Congress Leaders
Emphasizing Congress’s legacy, Kharge invoked the sacrifices of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, who he said gave their lives for the nation’s unity. He questioned the BJP’s contributions, asserting that they have done little for the country and instead focus on maligning Congress. He also highlighted the role of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in founding National Herald, Navjivan, and Qaumi Awaz newspapers to awaken the public and amplify their voices during the freedom struggle against British rule.
Criticism of BJP-RSS Tactics
Kharge labeled the BJP and RSS as experts in conspiracy, accusing them of orchestrating actions to undermine Congress at every turn. He reiterated the party’s resilience, stating that Congress leaders neither fear nor bow to such tactics. His comments were echoed by sentiments on X, where users like
