FBI Nabs Punjab Terrorist Harpreet Singh in US, Vows Justice

    Terrorist Captured in US Soil

Harpreet Singh, an alleged member of foreign terrorist groups, was arrested in Sacramento by the FBI and Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the arrest, stating Singh had illegally entered the US and used burner phones to evade authorities. Singh is accused of planning attacks on police stations in both India and the US.

    International Cooperation Pays Off

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav hailed the arrest as a milestone in dismantling Pakistan-backed terror networks. Singh, associated with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and linked to Pakistan-based terrorist Lakhbir Singh Rinda, was a key operative in orchestrating targeted killings and grenade attacks in Punjab between 2023 and 2025.

    FBI Director Assures Justice

FBI Director Kash Patel praised the joint efforts of US and Indian agencies, stating, “Justice will be done.” He emphasized the FBI’s commitment to pursuing perpetrators of violence regardless of their location. The arrest followed extensive coordination between FBI Sacramento and Indian counterparts.

    Terror Trail Across Borders

Investigations revealed Singh’s involvement in multiple terror activities, including extortion and attacks on police establishments in Punjab and other Indian states. His arrest highlights the growing threat of cross-border terrorism and the need for robust international intelligence-sharing mechanisms.

    Next Steps in the Case

Authorities are now probing Singh’s connections with other terror operatives and his activities in the US. The case underscores the importance of continued vigilance and cooperation between global security agencies to combat terrorism effectively.

The arrest of Harpreet Singh reinforces the critical role of international collaboration in counter-terrorism efforts, ensuring that threats are neutralized before they escalate.
