Face Reflects Pain, Heart Burns with Anger: PM Modi Returns from Saudi, Skips Home to Hold Emergency Meet on Pahalgam Attack

New Delhi – The brutal terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir’s Pahalgam has shaken the entire nation, and the emotional impact on Prime Minister Narendra Modi was clearly visible as he returned from his Saudi Arabia visit mid-way. His face, usually calm and glowing after a foreign tour, wore a somber, grief-stricken expression — a sign of the heavy weight of the tragedy on his heart.

Modi, who had been on a two-day official trip to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, cancelled his planned engagements — including a state dinner — and flew back to India on Wednesday morning, ahead of schedule. The terror attack, which killed at least 28 people and injured over 20, forced the Prime Minister to reprioritize, reflecting the urgency and gravity of the situation.

No Home Stop – Straight to Crisis Mode

Upon landing in Delhi, the Prime Minister didn’t head home. Instead, he convened a high-level emergency security meeting right at the airport. The meeting was attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, and senior intelligence and defense officials. This decision alone underlined the seriousness with which the Centre is treating the situation.

Sources revealed that Modi’s grief quickly turned into action. His face told a story of sadness, but his steps spoke of resolve. Just hours earlier, he had expressed his outrage on social media platform X, where he wrote:

“I strongly condemn the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. My heartfelt condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. All necessary support is being extended to those affected. The perpetrators of this heinous act will be brought to justice. Their nefarious agenda will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unwavering and only grows stronger.”

Tourists Targeted in a Cowardly Attack

The attack occurred in the scenic Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam, where terrorists opened fire on tourists, including two foreign nationals and several domestic travelers from different Indian states. The chilling incident has not only left families shattered but has also posed serious questions about security preparedness in a high-tourist zone.

India’s Message: No Tolerance for Terror

This swift response from both the Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Modi underscores India’s clear message — that terrorism will be met with absolute resistance. Shah had already reached Kashmir the previous day, interacting with the victims’ families and directing agencies to intensify their crackdown on the attackers.

As the nation mourns, the government’s message is clear: Justice will be delivered, and terror will not be allowed to win.
