Pahalgam Terror Attack: Security Forces Release Sketches of Suspected Terrorists
Jammu & Kashmir Police have released sketches of three suspects involved in the Pahalgam terror attack. The suspects have been identified as Asif Fuji, Suleman Shah, and Abu Talha. The sketches were prepared based on statements from eyewitnesses and injured victims.
Manhunt Intensifies
The sketches are being widely circulated in the area to gather public assistance in identifying the terrorists. Security agencies are actively tracking their hideouts and contacts.
Terrorists’ Route Exposed
Preliminary investigations reveal that the terrorists infiltrated from the Pir Panjal mountains, moving through Rajouri, Chhatru, Wadhavan, and finally reaching Pahalgam. This route, near Reasi and Udhampur districts, is populated by the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities, which may have helped the terrorists blend in unnoticed.
Heightened Security Across Kashmir
Following the attack, security has been tightened across the valley, especially at key tourist spots. In Srinagar, most shops, fuel stations, and commercial establishments remained closed, with only essential services operating. Public transport was minimal, though private vehicles moved normally.
Kashmir Valley Observes Unprecedented Shutdown
In a rare show of unity, a complete shutdown was observed across Kashmir on Wednesday—the first in 35 years—in protest against the terror attack. The strike received support from all sections of society.
The Pahalgam attack, which claimed 26 lives (mostly tourists), has sparked nationwide outrage, with security forces vowing strong retaliation.
